The Pointer Sisters first landed on the Billboard charts in 1973. With songs that blurred the lines between rock, pop, R&B, and even country, The Pointer Sisters were the first contemporary act to perform at the San Francisco Opera House and the first black female group to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. The group appeared on the silver screen with Richard Pryor in the 1976 movie Car Wash. The Pointer Sisters were early music-video innovators and a mainstay of MTV’s early days with songs from their 1983 album, Break Out, including “Automatic,” “Jump (for my love),” “Neutron Dance,” and the classic “I’m So Excited.” After receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1994, the sisters began a worldwide tour of the Fats Waller musical Ain’t Misbehavin’. Now in their fifth decade of performing, The Pointer Sisters continue to delight audiences all over the world.

Proceeds from Command Performance 2014 Gala & Benefit featuring The Pointer Sisters will provide additional operating support for the 86-year-old Carolina Theatre, ensuring high-quality performing arts experiences for future generations.

Tickets for the cocktail party and concert package are $125. Cocktail vouchers will be provided for the lively pre-concert event with complimentary drinks & hors d'oeuvres. (Dinner party and individual concert tickets are available for purchase through separate event listings on the CT website.)
