Presenting Arts, Preserving History

In addition to concerts and other live stage productions, the Carolina Theatre is also a dramatic gathering place for weddings, business meetings and conferences, as well as private parties and receptions, with an array of available spaces: the grand auditorium, the stage, the lobby – both upstairs and down – and, of course, our banquet hall, the Renaissance Room.

Application Process

The Carolina Theatre is available for rent via a lease agreement. To apply for a lease, please fill out the online application. Upon approval, a hold will be placed on the date(s) requested and a confirmation letter will be sent requesting a 50% non-refundable, non-transferable deposit. The confirmation letter and the deposit need to be returned within seven days.

Upon receipt of the confirmation letter and deposit, a lease agreement will be issued. Both copies of the signed lease need to be returned within thirty (30) days, or thirty (30) days prior to the event, whichever comes first.

Full rental fees, labor and security deposits, and certificates of liability insurance are due no later than thirty (30) days prior to the first event.

The Carolina Theatre operates all Box Office services for events held at the theatre. Full rental must be received (and in the case of checks, cleared by the bank) before tickets can be printed or placed on sale. In general, labor deposits are not required for repeat clients of ticketed events. Labor fees are deducted from box office receipts. In the event receipts do not cover anticipated labor fees, a cash deposit will be required before entry to the building.

All clients must have liability insurance listing the Carolina Theatre as "additional insured". Proof of this insurance must be received one month prior to the event.
